Zehra Akaslan, a 2nd year student studying at Hasan Kalyoncu University Faculty of Communication, Department of Visual Communication Design, was selected as “Nespresso Young Jury Member” in the “Young Masters” Category at the 43rd Istanbul Film Festival (17-28 April).

Nespresso, which has been contributing to the Istanbul Film Festival for two years, will select the jury members for the “Young Masters” category from film students, and the director of one of the films evaluated by the juries will be awarded the Young Master Award.

Nespresso Young Jury Members, who are selected by evaluating a half-page letter they send to the festival in which they explain their passion for film and the festival and state why they want to be a jury member, will be able to watch and evaluate the films together with other jury members.

Film students selected as Nespresso Young Jury Members will be the official jurors of the festival and will have full accreditation. The Young Jury Members, who will have the opportunity to participate in all the events of the festival, will also have the opportunity to experience the festival by meeting the festival guests as well as other jury members and cinema professionals.

The main juries of the festival include Merve Dizdar, Barış Aygen, Halil Altındere, Kasım Ördek, Zeynep Demirhan and Barış Gönenen. The guest of honour of the festival this year is Wim Wenders, one of the leading names of world cinema; he will chat with the audience and have a festival conversation.

At the 28 April award ceremony, the winning director will be awarded 3,000 euros with the contribution of Nespresso.

We congratulate our student Zehra Akaslan, who produces texts and content in the field of visual communication, is interested in cinema and writes scripts, and wish her continued success.
