Organised within the scope of the Common Use Facilities Grant Scheme for Gaziantep and Şanlıurfa Provinces, Getham: Entrepreneurs’ Hub Project, the Design Your City’s Shoe Ideathon took place on 11-12 June 2022 at Gaziantep GETHAM. A total of 17 teams, including 2 teams formed by Hasan Kalyoncu University Faculty of Communication students, participated in the Ideathon, which was funded by the European Union within the scope of the ENHANCER programme implemented by the International Migration Policy Development Centre and the Ministry of Industry and Technology, supported by İpekyolu Development Agency, Karacadağ and GETHAM.
During the Ideathon process, all teams put forward their designs by competing fiercely. At the end of 2 days, the designs and ideas of the teams were evaluated by the jury team, including GETHAM Chairman Uğur Acıoğlu. The teams of Hasan Kalyoncu University Faculty of Communication, Radio Television Cinema and Visual Communication Design students won the 3rd and 5th prizes by reflecting the traditional motifs unique to Gaziantep and the lines that make up the brand city in their designs.
Our ranked teams will be involved in the production process of the shoes they have designed by receiving mentoring support. As HKU Faculty of Communication, we congratulate our students who ranked.
